oof… yeah, yes. i mean okay as a teenager it was one petty instance of jealousy, cos i liked someone that my friends liked too. whatever.
but i’ve also fallen for someone a lot of my friends disliked – it definitely turned into a manipulative situation where i was being mistreated. unfortunately, too, at the time, a lot of my friends didn’t know better with regard to talking to/treating an abuse victim, and i got upset with them (which in turn made it easier for my abuser to convince me to cut them out of my life. so it goes.) – a few friends were gentle and patient and stuck around, and hey, those were the people i went to when i got out of the situation. thanks, y’all. 💖
